fall catography, 12x12

info + 2 more layouts under the cut! :)

supply list:

this is a layout about my boy stumpy (with a cameo by shadow). he is very shy and squirmish, so it’s difficult to get a good photo of him, but i finally snapped the main shot featured on this layout after being outside with him for quite some time, so i was and still am really happy about it! my dad tried to help pose shadow for this year’s pumpkin photo, but he has gotten more skittish as he’s gotten older, so that proved pretty much impossible. there are a few outtakes, though (one of which is featured on a later layout ;)).

my favorite parts about this layout? definitely the uneven paint applied to the background and the stitched circles containing the butterflies! i absolutely loved the heap of embellishments contained in crazy daisy’s november kit (and i think it shows, as most layouts pack on the goodies). i found myself using a little of everything… buttons, the oversized ric rack, cardstock butterflies, stickers, and the exquisitely pretty basic grey half pearls. the crate paper yellow border sticker (my favorite of the set), cut apart and stuck over masking tape looks pretty good, too, if i do say so myself.

because the kaisercraft patterned paper is very lightweight, i adhered it to a piece of brown cardstock to sturdy it up, and i like both the practicality of that as well as the contrast light brown on dark brown creates.

i am so blessed to have my family, 12x12

supply list:

the kaisercraft rollercoaster paper (which is probably the sheet i liked best out of the whole kit… if i had to choose!) and old polaroid izone camera photos inspired this page. the title lays it bare. how cool are those jenni bowlin banner stickers? love that vintage nostalgia which reminds of dick and jane books and norman rockwell paintings. hokey americana is hard to resist. there’s a certain lure to it.

i used a combination of the imaginisce rub-ons and a cut apart we r memory keepers tag for the title, as well doodling by hand in my journaling. more masking tape and a couple of those really pretty, dream-rendered hot air balloons from the moon ride paper.

happy go lucky, 12x12

supply list:

lucky. what a goober! i love this photo of him, taken circa 2003. he really embodies happiness in it.

i pieced this layout together (literally — i had used a chunk of it in my mini book this month) by using a whole lotta mod podge and filling in the gaps with brown cardstock and some of the rather rad yellow plaid paper — ash by we r memory keepers. if you look closely, you’ll see that as a result, the imaginisce paper is actually upside down. ;) the journaling is hidden underneath the photo in a pocket i made out of transparency scrap.

i used some of the gorgeous trim provided in the kit to stamp the grungy lines seen on the page. vanilla ice cream paint, of course! my favorite neutral color. :) embellishments, hand-stitching, and a few globs of paint completed the layout. colorful and fun!
